KOTRA came a calling
6 August 2018
AMIM welcomed the courtesy visit from Oh Youjin and Izzuddin Ismail from Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) KL office at Menara Boustead, KL on 6 August 2018. They were accompanied by Eunice Ho from Won & Jo Trading which represents the interest of South Korean marine industry companies in Malaysia, and were greeted by AMIM’s Honorary Secretary, Nazery Khalid.
The engagement underlines the close links between the marine industry players in Malaysia and South Korea, one of the world’s top shipbuilding nations. Despite facing keen challenges from the economic slowdown and downturn in the marine industry, there is always room for practitioners in the marine industry from both countries to explore areas and ways to work together even in these lean times. These include enhancing cooperation and collaboration through B2B meetings, undertaking joint promotional efforts, carrying out technical visits, exchanging products, solutions, ideas and info via seminars and exhibitions.
Step in KOTRA to further strengthen the already cordial ties between the marine industry players in both countries through such activities. AMIM is always welcoming of any effort to further bring them closer as a means to enable its members in particular and Malaysian marine industry practitioners in general to learn from the Korean way which has made them a giant in global marine industry, especially in shipbuilding / ship repair.
